Peycibeau – Manor House
This totally secluded private house available for holiday rental in the Dordogne. Guests are invited to roam around our 42 acres of private countryside – not another house in sight! Relax in the courtyard garden where the soothing sound of the fountain, the scent of the lavender, and the perfect shades of pink roses all mingle together to entice your senses. Sit out and sun yourself on one of the numerous terraces, which all have garden furniture or sun-beds and parasols. If it is the right time of the morning or evening, you might see the deer grazing in the meadow, or a hot air balloon floating by.
Because one of the bedrooms and all the living accommodation are on the ground floor and there are various wide entrances, with the help of very shallow ramps being put into place if requested, many areas of the house are accessible by wheelchair. Similarly, the swimming pool is also accessible by wheelchair from the house, so too is the summer house, with the aid of some ramps. Please ask for more specific details about this.
Wi-Fi internet covers the house & grounds – so you could pick-up your e-mails whilst sun-bathing around the pool … if you really have to! TV’s are available in various rooms for watching either Freeview satellite TV or DVDs and there is a Sonos system in the summer house that you can connect to via your own device (iPhone, iPad etc)
As well as the hours of fun to be enjoyed in the pool, children have the parkland all around to play in safely and the surrounding woods to explore – there is a wonderful tree-house with a rope-swing, a large trampoline, and for smaller children a play area with swings and a slide.
The produce of our land is yours to enjoy: we have a well-stocked herb garden just outside the kitchen door and we usually grow tomatoes. There are cherry, plum, apple and walnut trees, and of course wild mushrooms (if in doubt ask at the pharmacy in the village and they will tell you which are edible – or not!)
We have bikes to hire for a small additional fee. There is ample parking close to the house. We try to be environmentally conscious here at Peycibeau – the swimming pool is solar-heated, as is the domestic hot water. Much of the lighting is LED. There are several clothes lines to dry clothes outdoors the natural way, and we encourage guests to do as we do and recycle their rubbish during their stay.
